Meet our Fund 2022 Portfolio

At RevUp, we use an "annual fund" model to make our investments. The TLDR version is that we invest annually into a group of 10-12 companies. As we shift into deploying our newest fund, it seems like the PERFECT time to take a moment to celebrate the ten amazing companies we welcomed into the RevUp family over the last year.

The overall composition RevUp's Athena Growth Fund 2022 portfolio is top notch. The spectrum of investments is well balanced, with a great mix of industry and sector focus. The portfolio is 80% B2B and 20% B2C, with companies hailing from Massachusetts, Texas, California, North Carolina, Washington D.C., Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Arizona.

C-Suite diversity is a top priority for us. We are pleased to report that 80% of Fund 2022 investments (8/10) have at least one female co-founder and 30% of investments (3/10) have a founder that identifies as Black or Brown.

To put this into context, ~2% of Venture Capital dollars were invested in women-led companies and 1% into Black founders in 2022. We are proud of the strides we've made to actively invest into founders who remain underserved and overlooked by traditional VC!

Check out this video if you want a little more insight into why founder diversity matters so much to us.

Here's a little summary on all of the companies who joined the RevUp family as part of our Fund 2022 round of investment:

Zakipoint Health

Zakipoint's best-in-class platform, reporting, and engagement tools empower employers, benefits consultants, and third-party administrators to bend the cost curve. Using their technology, companies have reduced their healthcare risks by 20% and achieved major cost savings on their healthcare spend.

Mosie Baby

For many people who want to conceive a baby, artificial insemination is the “first step” for anyone who is struggling to conceive via intercourse. Today, this procedure (known as intrauterine insemination, or IUI) is done in medical offices in a manner that is cost intensive, invasive, and unnecessarily complex to deliver. Mosie Baby brings ease, privacy and dignity to this process by offering their customers an at home kit for artificial insemination. Mosie is the first syringe designed specifically for at-home insemination that’s safe, simple, affordable, patented, and clinically proven as effective as clinical insemination. Mosie customers have reported that 10,000+ babies have been born after using the kit. You can read a few of these stories here.

Clerdata

Clerdata is a marketing intelligence SaaS platform for mid and large-sized CPG brands that reach customers through multi-channel marketing. The Clerdata platform helps their customers answer a perennial question: Is my marketing strategy / spend effective?

Using proprietary data science, the Clerdata platform pulls data from multiple channels / sources into a single assessment engine that can 1) display data in a uniform, easy-to-understand format that non-data science experts can understand and 2) produce specific recommendations for marketing activity that can inform and improve day-to-day decision making in real time.

Breakout

Breakout is creating a global platform for distributed company culture. Inspired by the rapid change in how and where people work, Breakout offers team building experiences and activity kits for a broad segment of enterprise customers. Breakout offers their customers 30+ productized virtual team building events, some complemented by a physical box that is shipped to event participants in advance. Break out provides everything that an event organizer needs, even a facilitator if budget allows it. And unlike competitors, marketplaces where beleaguered managers and program leaders must sift through a tsunami of "stuff" to find what they need, Breakout offers a suite of in-house created offerings that can be customized to a buyer's unique needs and goals.

Tozuda

Head injuries are not only bad for the health and wellbeing of athletes and workers, they are an expensive problem for insurers and employers. The real issue with impact head injuries is that they can be easily ignored. The Tozuda impact indicator is designed to give a simple visual indication that an impact sufficient to cause a concussion has occurred and that the wearer should pause activities and get an assessment.

Tozuda is a non-electric impact indicator that, once affixed to a helmet or safety device, detects when an impact is forceful enough to cause a concussion. The device is purely mechanical and requires no power source to operate. The small device is mounted on self affixing tape and placed on the back of any helmet or hardhat. When triggered, the device turns red. In keeping with this functionality, the company has trademarked “If it’s red, check your head.”

Tonebase

Tonebase is a fully digital music education platform that delivers premium music instruction to intermediate-to-expert musicians. For adults who are not musical “beginners,” finding instructional coaching is difficult, cost prohibitive, and highly dependent on location. While others have tried to bring music lessons online, this approach is limited to real time interactions and these platforms are frequently tailored towards beginners.

Tonebase seamlessly connects their customers with on-demand, premium instructional content created by well-known and highly regarded musicians. Think “Master Class” for classical instruments, with a Netflix-like approach to on-demand content. They are truly the best in the business because they attract the best in the business.Check them out at Tonebase to learn more or dive into their world class instructional content!

Aspireship

Aspireship is a career development platform for the SaaS industry, helping motivated people upskill and move into new opportunities, while giving talent-hungry employers a new way to find the right talent at the right time.

Aspireship solves an important problem: a resume is only part of a candidate’s story. A candidate that looks good on paper may underwhelm in real life. A candidate whose resume is missing “key words” is easily overlooked by automated hiring platforms. Aspireship’s platform offers training for individuals to upskill through training and prove aptitude through role play that simulates the real-world scenarios that candidates will face on the job. The platform matches candidates with best fit companies, providing hiring managers with a pitch video and role play footage that tell a story a resume alone never could.

Eduporium

Eduporium is a one-stop marketplace that connects educational buyers with a curated catalog of STEM products and services available for purchase directly from the Eduporium site. Eduporium handles purchase orders and directly manages the pass through of products from the EdTech firms that make them to the schools and districts who want to buy them. With hundreds of EdTech companies offering every kind of product under the sun, the options available have quickly exceeded buyers' bandwidth to sort, review and select what will work best for their students / learning goals. Eduporium has leveraged this to build a loyal customer base that prefers to let the educational experts at Eduporium do the vetting for them!

Unicorn

Unicorn is a feminine care company focused on ensuring that, wherever there is toilet paper, there are also period products. In addition to producing the products themselves, TOP designed a cheap, easy-to-install dispenser that makes it easy for enterprise organizations to put products where women need them the most, in each and every stall. Unicorn offers a premium care product (tampon and pad) and a dispenser that quickly, cheaply, and easily affixes to a wall inside a bathroom stall. The products can be simply reloaded when depleted by the same person who changes the toilet paper. The company sells to corporate buyers, commercial real estate managers and janitorial services companies.

Ediphi

Ediphi is a total online solution for enterprise hospitality organizations that hire international workers and the educational organizations that route these workers into the industry. The platform offers XR-powered training, internship placement and management, virtual internships, training-to-employment programs, and blockchain-based training and education credentialing.

Unicorn

It’s simple: There should be feminine care products IN EVERY STALL. Boston-based Unicorn is on a mission to ensure that wherever there is toilet paper, there are also period products. In addition to producing the products themselves, Unicorn designed a cheap, easy-to-install dispenser that makes it easy for enterprise organizations to put products where women need them the most, in each and every stall. More About RevUp Capital

RevUp Capital invests in B2B and B2C companies that are revenue-driven and ready to double down on growth. We deploy cash and capacity to help companies grow from $1-3M to $10-30M, quickly and efficiently, using a revenue-based model. Companies enter our portfolio with $500K-$3M in revenue, a strong growth rate, and a team that’s ready to scale. Our typical investment range is $300K-$500K.

We invest into a company's market-facing activity using a cash and capacity model. We pair our cash investment with dedicated support from the RevUp Growth Platform: a powerful resource to build a data-driven growth engine, delivered by people who get the work done. Rather than take equity, companies return investment through a small percentage of revenue over time. More at www.revupfund.com
