As DEXA testing has exploded in popularity, driven by the rise of GLP-1 medications and growing interest in longevity, a flood of low-cost, pop-up providers has entered the market. Not all of them are held to the same quality standards, and without a consistent quality bar, there's no way to know if the data you're getting is truly actionable or just a number on a page.

Fitnescity Health, the nation's largest network of clinical-grade DEXA locations, has just launched the Clinical Integrity Standard (CIS), a voluntary quality framework that defines what a trustworthy DEXA experience actually looks like.
The Clinical Integrity Standard establishes three pillars to identify and vet operators committed to delivering reliable, longitudinally consistent results:
Structural and Environmental Stability — Fixed-site facilities that control for temperature, power quality, and mechanical stability, in line with ISCD guidance recommending patients return to the same machine for comparability over time. (Something mobile vans and pop-up locations simply can't guarantee.)
Longitudinal Quality Assurance — Operators that maintain calibration protocols, technologist training, and reporting consistency per ISCD recommendations, so results are meaningful scan after scan.
Clinical and Expert Oversight — Results reviewed and contextualized by a credentialed professional equipped to interpret findings and guide next steps.
As CEO and Co-Founder Laila Zemrani puts it: "When DEXA informs decisions about GLP-1 treatment, sarcopenia, or long-term body composition tracking, the stakes are too high for a race to the bottom."
