The Pros and Perils of Capital Efficiency
Join Melissa Withers at WVS 2025 for a conversation on what it really means to always ‘do more with less’
RevUp Capital’s Managing Partner Melissa Withers will be speaking at the Women’s Venture Summit 2025 in San Diego September 22-25. This year, Melissa will be joined by investor and friend Rebecca Moore to riff on the The Pros and Perils of Capital Efficiency.
Together, they’ll explore what it really means to “do more with less” and how this expectation can empower founders or hold them back. Drawing on their experiences as investors and operators who have themselves built businesses, Melissa and Rebecca will explore the unintended consequences of seed-strapping and the trade-offs founders face when ultra-efficiency becomes the only path.
Melissa will also hold office hours to meet with companies who might be a good fit to join our portfolio. (Go here for more on how we select companies for investment)
At RevUp, we are bullishly committed to expanding the capital toolkit for funding early stage companies and we are thrilled to be part of Womens Venture Summit 2025.With a powerful mix of content, workshops, and relationship-building, WVS is a key gathering for anyone who’s rethinking how to expand access to funding and unlock the full potential of American Entrepreneurship.
( Side note: If the idea of expanding the toolkit for early stage investing sounds good to you, check out a recent recording that Melissa produced on the economic upsides of investing beyond unicorns.)

How We Invest
We built RevUp to invest into B2B and B2C companies ascending the $1M-$10M growth curve. We know from experience—and from the stellar performance of our portfolio—that this curve can be conquered. But, having the right resources and support along the way is critical to success.
RevUp combines non-dilutive investment with hands-on support to help companies build stronger, more scalable infrastructure for growth. And, we do it using a non-dilutive model. Our goal? Give companies the best shot at success while preserving founder equity, optionality, and autonomy.
For more info on how we invest check out the video below or go here.
Our Model
We invest into B2B and B2C companies with revenue traction, a solid growth rate, and a strong team. Our companies are:
In market, selling, and ready to grow to $10-15M in revenue in the next few years.
Producing $500K - $3M in annual revenue.
On a path toward profitability. Burning isn't always bad, and there's nothing wrong with investing into growth. But getting your company to a place where you can hold your own is a good place to be.
Beyond this, we invest into companies with:
A strong leadership team with proven execution ability.
A product or service that the world wants and needs.
Diversity throughout. Since 2018, 70+% of RevUp investments have been into companies led by a woman or person of color.
Most importantly, we select for companies where we add unique and strategic value. If we don’t, we aren’t the right investor.
