Athena Growth Fund 2025

Since 2016, RevUp has produced competitive returns for investors while also championing founders we are PROUD to support.

RevUp's Athena Growth Fund 2025 is now accepting new investors. Note: Fund 2025 can only accept investment from accredited investors*.

We created RevUp in 2016 to profitably invest into the large class of companies that are underserved by traditional Venture Capital.

Rather than take equity in a company, RevUp uses a revenue-based model to generate investor returns. Post investment, companies return a small percentage of revenue over time, until reaching a predetermined cap.  In this model, RevUp produces investor returns with or without exits.

The team has invested $20M into 60+ companies, producing a blended IRR of 20%+ across those investments.  Learn more about our investment and selection criteria here. You can also take a look at some of our most recent investments here.

RevUp’s Athena Growth Fund 2025 builds on our success.

Fund 2025 Highlights:

  • $20M, 8-year fund, projected IRR of 20% and 2.5X DPI. Cash back to investors starting in year 2.

  • Strong track record: previous funds produced a blended IRR of 20%+ across ~70 investments.

  • RevUp funds show actual cash returns quickly, a benefit passed along to investors via dividends that are distributed twice a year.

  • Impactful: 70%+ of RevUp investments are C-Suite diverse and more than half have impact metrics embedded into their core DNA.

  • Strong and deeply experienced management: Led by Melissa Withers and Allan Tear, who share a decade plus of experience across 120+ investments.

  • Worth a spin: Melissa recently made this video that dives into the economic upsides of investing into VC-adjacent companies, offering a great primer on this exciting asset class:  https://www.revupfund.com/blog/the-upsides-of-investing-beyond-unicorns

Investing for Profit, Delivering Impact

We are pleased to share our 2025 Impact Assessment, a short summary of how we invest into founders who build without the perks of privilege and the ways we pursue impact with profit. At RevUp we think about impact in three ways: 1) Investing Beyond Unicorns, 2) Backing Underrepresented Founders, and 3) Investing Outside Major Metros. For us, investing in a way that has a positive impact on the world isn’t philanthropy—across previous funds we’ve returned a blended IRR of 20% to our investors. That some of our founders have done well enough to now become LPs in RevUp funds brings the purpose of our work full circle. Please learn more about this work here.

The Upsides of Investing Beyond Unicorns

RevUp Partners Melissa Withers and Allan Tear created RevUp after becoming frustrated with the Exit or Bust constraints of equity-only investing. The team was guided by the belief that expanding the capital toolkit for early stage investing would open huge opportunity for investors and founders alike. They were right. This video dives a little deeper into why this work matters..and why it keeps them coming back for more.

Why the Goddess Athena?

The Goddess Athena was the champion of crafters and makers, those who pursue excellence through practice, dedication and hard work. She was a fierce warrior who was also renowned for her good counsel, prudent restraint, and practical insights. Like the founders we invest into, Athena was a problem solver—a patron of those who had the grit and the courage to make things with their own hands. RevUp founders are warrior business builders who get up each day, putting one foot in front of the other to build something beautiful. We know that Athena would be as proud as we are to lead them into battle!
